The main key to staying on top of your plan and your budget is to review both regularly.
It sounds simple enough, but people frequently create the schedule or the cost plan and then leave them untouched for weeks at a time. When they do look at them again, the documents are, unsurprisingly, out of date and usually you find that an activity has slipped because it wasn’t checked up on.
You should aim to check your cost plan and schedule on a regular basis – weekly or fortnightly is ideal. You will be amazed at how much this simple activity puts you in control!
